Affiliate Programs
What is an affiliate program?
An affiliate program is a marketing strategy. The program and advertisers pay nothing up front. The sponsors pay based on a percentage of the sales that the affiliate brings to the sponsors’ site. The program tracks where traffic is coming from, and which websites bring them customers.
For a good description of how they work, read the article on wikipedia.com. (I find wikipedia an amazing resource, a site where I go first whenever I’m doing research.)
Students will be able to find some possible affiliate programs. Check back for an updated list of programs. A list of programs can be found here (list).
